CMS Captures Inaugural Stag-Hen Title
Mar 17 - CMS defeated both Washington University in St. Louis and Emory University to capture the innaugural Stag-Hen Invitational on Saturday. CMS won 7-2 against Wash U to reach the tournament final, and then knocked off second ranked and 2006 NCAA team champion Emory 5-4 to take the title. The Stags were led by sophomore Lawrence Wang (Orange, CA) and Freshman Mikey Lim (Honolulu, HI) who were both undefeated in match play during the two-day, three-dual match tournament. Wang did not drop a set in three singles victories at #1, including a win over second ranked Michael Goodwin of Emory in the final. Wang and partner Guillaume Schils (SO - Shaker Heights, OH) also won all of three of their doubles matches at the #2 position. Lim only dropped one set in three singles matches at #3, and partnered Jack DePaolo (Asheville, NC) for three wins at #3 doubles. The Stags' three tournament wins improve their record to 14-3 on the season. Next up for the Stags are two home matches against #11 ranked Trinity on Friday, and #6 Williams on Saturday.
