Cyrus Gaylord Named SCIAC Men's Diver of the Week

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Cyrus Gaylord of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's swimming and diving team earned the SCIAC Diver of the Week Award for events through Sunday, Feb. 5, the league office announced today.

Gaylord won both diving events at the CMS Invitational against Pomona-Pitzer, picking up 557.80 points in the one-meter, to win by 19 points, and adding 588.45 points in the three-meter, a winning margin of 22 points. He also moved into third place in Stag history on both boards. 

It marks the fifth time this season that the CMS men's swimming and diving team has picked up the Diver of the Week honor, with Gaylord and Jack Griffith each winning twice, and Bennet Matazzoni winning once. 

CMS will be back in action from Feb. 15-18 at the SCIAC Championships, which will be held at East Los Angeles College (ELAC).
