CMS Men's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day with 8-0 Win over Bethesda

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's soccer team honored its seven seniors prior to a non-league game with Bethesda and went on to capture an 8-0 win to stretch its unbeaten streak to eight games (6-0-2).

The win moves CMS to 7-2-4 on the season, while Bethesda falls to 1-10. CMS honored its seven seniors, which included graduate transfer Andrew McSlarrow, as well as Class of 2024 members Justin Carr, Eric Sanchez, Jake Allmon, Liam O'Reilly, Kevin Box, and Chase Keir

Sanchez then got CMS started with two goals just 1:54 apart, the first coming off a pass from James Gomez and the second from John Laidlaw.

O'Reilly then picked up an assist on the third goal at the 21:00 mark of the first half (which was scored by Laidlaw) and Allmon joined the scoring list 1:07 later off a Laidlaw pass to make it 4-0.

Luca Wahlberg closed out the first half with a goal with 1:25 left that was assisted by Carr and Lukas Huntington. Liam Hall then added his first career goal in the second half off a Mollenkamp feed, and Cooper Danielson scored his first two collegiate goals, off of passes from Wahlberg and Mollenkamp.

Four goalies combined on the shutout for CMS, with Box getting the start and making a save, with Miles Demarest, Henry Otte and Nate Kim each making two saves in relief to combine on the shutout.

CMS will be back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Pomona-Pitzer for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
