Josh Angle Earns Spot on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Josh Angle of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's basketball team was one of seven players selected to the Division III Men's Basketball Academic All-District 8 team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced today.

Angle is the leading scorer for the Stags this season, averaging 18.3 points to help CMS to a 16-5 record and a 10-4 mark in conference play. He has had four 30-point games, including on opening day in a win at Puget Sound, and in a win over Chapman, while tallying a career-high 36 in a win over Redlands. He has also averaged 5.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists this season, and has been named the SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week once, in addition to two Offensive Player of the Week honors. In the classroom, Angle majors in economics at Claremont McKenna and has twice been a SCIAC All-Academic team selection while carrying over a 3.9 cumulative grade point average.

By earning a spot on the CoSIDA all-district team, Angle is now eligible for Academic All-America honors. Those teams will be announced in March during national championship week.

CMS will next be in action when it plays Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at Roberts Pavilion in what will be a home game for the Sagehens. The Stags then close out the regular season with a rematch at Redlands on Monday and will host a quarterfinal game on Wednesday at Roberts Pavilion.
