Daniel Rohde - Men's Soccer

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's soccer team picked up a huge 3-1 non-conference win over No. 9 Trinity this week, with Daniel Rohde assisting on the opening goal in the first half and scoring the eventual game-winner in the second half to help the Stags to the win.

CMS is coming off a 15-2-1 season last year, which left it frustratingly out of the NCAA Tournament despite being ranked in the top 25 and having the top defense in the nation. This year, the Stags beefed up their non-conference schedule hoping to improve their resume should they need an at-large, and the 3-1 win over Trinity on Friday at UT Dallas was a big step in that direction.

Rohde set up the game's first tally in the 12th minute when his shot was saved and sophomore Ethan Tyng put home the rebound. Rohde then stunned the Tigers with a goal just 1:11 into the second half to make the score 2-0, which proved to be the game-winner after the Tigers scored a harmless goal with the Stags up 3-0 in the 83rd minute.

CMS is now 2-2 on the year and concludes its non-conference schedule with a key home game on Friday night at 7 p.m. against Saint Thomas (Minn.), hoping to pick up another signature win.
