Ethan Lewis - Men's Water Polo

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Junior defender Ethan Lewis had a major role in leading the CMS men's water polo team to a 5-1 week, including 2-0 in SCIAC matches and a 3-1 mark in the Gary Troyer Memorial Tournament. 

Lewis had the biggest goal of the week, the game-winning tally with just three seconds left as the Stags knocked off Division I Navy 6-5 in their first game of the Gary Troyer Tournament. He also had a huge effort in the final game, a narrow 14-13 loss to No. 11 Pepperdine, when he scored four goals. One of his goals beat the first-half buzzer to tie the score 7-7 going into halftime, while his last two tied the score 13-13 in the fourth quarter when he scored back-to-back to help erase a 13-10 Waves lead. 

In addition to his contributions on offense, Lewis also led the Stags with 13 steals defensively over the six matches, including four in a 12-8 win over Johns Hopkins in a battle of two of the top four teams in the Division III poll. and three in the Pepperdine match. 

CMS is back in action this week when it travels to Boston to participate in the Harvard Invitational, meeting host Harvard, Princeton, Brown and Iona over the three-day tournament.
