Justin Hull - Baseball

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Junior Justin Hull threw 6.2 shutout innings, allowing only three hits, to help set the tone as the CMS baseball team completed a doubleheader sweep of Whitman on Sunday at Arce Field.

Hull continued his impressive junior season with another quality start, striking out four and walking only one over his 6.2 innings to help the Stags stretch their winning streak to four games. Over his last four innings of work against Whitman, Hull allowed only one infield single, as he got stronger as the game moved on. He also pitched around a pair of errors leading off the sixth and seventh innings to help keep Whitman off the board until the Blues scratched a run across in the eighth against the bullpen.

In four of his five starts so far this season, he has allowed one run or less, including two where he didn't allow an earned run, as he improved his personal record to 3-1 on the year. He has also thrown eight innings with no earned runs to get a win against Cal Lutheran, seven innings with one earned run against Occidental (in a tough-luck loss), and five innings with one earned run to defeat Lewis & Clark.

CMS will be back in action on Tuesday, March 19 for a Spring Break home game against Principia at 1 p.m.
