Riley Hoffman - Women's Swimming and Diving

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior Riley Hoffman had a big day, winning two individual events and adding to a relay win, as the CMS women's swimming and diving team remained perfect in the SCIAC with a clean sweep of Redlands on Saturday.

Hoffman took both the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events on the afternoon, while also swimming the third leg of a 400-yard freestyle relay team that took first place as well, as the Athenas won every event on the day.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Hoffman took a tight win by just over a half-second, the second week in a row that she has won the 200 free after also taking first place at Whittier at Jan. 12. She then added a second win in the 100 free, touching the wall in 54.77, just seven-hundredths of a second ahead of teammate Emma Stacy.

Hoffman then capped off her afternoon by contributing to a 400-yard relay win in the final event of the day for her third win, as the Athenas "A" team touched the wall in 3:37.52.

The CMS swimming and diving teams will next be in action for their final home meet of the season on Feb. 2 at 10 a.m. against Cal Lutheran and La Verne. It will also be Senior Day for Hoffman and the rest of the Class of 2019.
