Bio

The anchor on a 4x400 relay team that qualified for the NCAA Championships in three of his four seasons, Gnecco was named Harvey Mudd College's Athlete of the Year as a junior. He was a two-time SCIAC champion (4x400 - 1988; 400 - 1989) and a two-time All-America (4x400 - 2nd, 1988; 8th, 1989). The 4x400 time from the team's second-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 1988 still holds the CMS record at 3:12.60. In 1986, he set a freshman record in the 400. He is still fourth all-time in the 400 (48.46) and the 4x400 teams he anchored are 1st, 6th and 7th (and were 1st, 2nd and 3rd upon graduation). Outside of his athletic endeavors, Gnecco was very involved on campus, writing for Harvey Mudd College's student newspaper and serving as dorm president.
