Bio

A three-year member of the football team and tri-captain in 1957, Van Horn was an outstanding player and an excellent leader on and off the field. He started as the center, snapping the ball in a single-wing offense, then switched to a position blocker for the defense. He was an intelligent player who was highly coordinated, and always maintained self-control and discipline under pressure. Individual awards: Williamson Award Honorary Mention Small Colleges All-America (1957), first-team All-SCIAC (1957).
