One of the greatest doubles players in Stags history, Hinman led his teams to four top-10 national finishes and the first three of eight straight SCIAC championships. He lettered in tennis during four seasons and served as co-captain in 1988. Career accomplishments: NCAA National Doubles Champion (1988), NCAA National Doubles Finalist (1987), NCAA All-America, Singles (1986, 1987, 1988), NCAA All-America, Doubles (1985, 1986, 1987, 1988), SCIAC Player of the Year (1987), SCIAC Doubles Champion (1985, 1986), SCIAC Singles Champion (1986), first-team All-SCIAC (1985, 1986, 1987, 1988). Statistics and records set during career: No. 1 Doubles Career Wins (96), No. 2 Combined Singles and Doubles Career Wins (173), No. 1 Singles Season Doubles Team Wins (29 in 1988), and No. 1 Singles Season Doubles Team Winning Percentage (.864 in 1985).
