Bio

An athletic pace-setter, Devereux was among the CMC student-athletes in the Pomona-CMC era who demonstrated the dedication and work ethic upon which the Claremont-Mudd athletic program was founded in 1958. An outstanding two-way performer and two-year starter at single-wing center and linebacker, Devereux was voted to the United Press Little All-Coast third team and All-SCIAC second team in 1955. His Small College Third Team All-Coast honor was during a time when only the eight-member Pacific Coast Conference was considered major college competition. In 1957 he was selected as the CMC Co-Athlete of the Year. He lettered in football for three seasons.
