Bio

Kawamura was the first female SCIAC champion in any sport at CMS. She won the mile at the SCIAC Track & Field Championships with a time of 5:21.67. Also a member of the CMS Cross Country/Track & Field Hall of Fame, she was a part of three school-record relay teams upon graduation, including the 4x400 (4:19.1), 4x800 (10:32.2) and sprint medley (2:01.9). In cross country, Jeana earned first-team All-SCIAC honors in 1978 and 1980, and was a member of the first two SCIAC championship teams at CMS in any sport (1978, 1980). She served as team captain of the 1980 cross country team.
