Bio

Eric Engelken is starting his third year as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for CMS Athletics in the 2023-24 academic year.   

Prior to arriving at CMS, Engelken served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at South Dakota School of Mines (2018-20) and as an Assistant prior (2017-18). Previously he spent time working mainly with the University of Kansas track and field team while assisting with football, and had a brief stint at Florida International University. 

Engelken earned his B.A. in Exercise Science from Graceland University and an M.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, Certified Strength Coach through the USTFCCCA, and a Level 1 Coach through USA Weightlifting. 

Originally from Topeka, Kansas, Engelken played soccer at Graceland prior to pursuing his coaching career.
