Bio

Following a brief stint with CMS as an interim Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2014, Dean joined the CMS full-time staff as the Assistant Athletic Trainer in August of 2018. He also added the role of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Coordinator in 2020.

Prior to CMS, Dean spent two years at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer. During his years at CSUF, his primary responsibility was women’s soccer. During his final year, he helped guide the team to a Big West Conference Championship and first round appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2017. While performing his duties as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer, in May of 2018, Charles successfully obtained his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology, emphasizing in Sport and Performance Psychology.

Dean's professional education began as he pursued his Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training from Azusa Pacific University, where he graduated in 2012. While at Azusa Pacific, Charles worked with football, men’s and women’s basketball, and tennis. Following the successful achievement of his Bachelor of Arts in 2012, Charles worked at Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation and multiple local high schools as the Head Athletic Trainer. 

Hailing from Los Angeles, Dean enjoys the city life, but often spends his free days in solitude, either listen to music, driving his car, or working out. He now lives in Claremont…with his car, Adaline.
