2015 NCAA D-III Cross Country Championships Information

WINNECONNE, Wisc. – By finishing first (Stags) and second (Athenas) at the West Regionals on Nov. 14 in Claremont, both the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's and women's cross country teams have qualified for the upcoming NCAA Division III National Championships. The 2015 NCAA D-III Cross Country Championships are hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne on Saturday, Nov. 21.

The 36th edition of the women's 6,000-meter race begins at 11 a.m. (CST), while the 43rd version of the men's 8,000-meter competition commences at 12:00 p.m. (CST). The women's race will be comprised of 280 runners from 81 institutions. The men's event features 280 competitors from 79 institutions.

CMS is one of 19 cross country programs to be represented at this year's championships by both its women's and men's team. This will be the eighth-straight year that both CMS teams will be competing at the National Championships. It is the Athenas' 18th NCAA appearance and the 14th NCAA appearance for the Stags. Last season the Athenas finished in 10th at nationals while the Stags claimed 15th place.

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is serving as host of the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships for the third time (1999 & 2011).
