Bio

Sam is a freshman at Scripps College, where she plans to major in English with a concentration in creative writing. Though she initially joined cross country in eighth grade for its social aspects, she quickly found that she enjoyed its competition and kept running long after most of her original group stopped. She is most proud of her improvement over her high school running career: from a 27:12 and third from last in her first 5k race to a 20:39 and fourth on varsity in her last. When she’s not running, Sam enjoys reading, eating chocolate, and petting dogs, preferably all at once. She is a proud Hufflepuff.
