CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's water polo team held off a late surge from Siena to capture a 12-10 win over the Saints in its first game of the day at the Claremont Convergence Tournament on Friday at Axelrood Pool.

The Athenas fell in the second game to La Salle 11-10, snapping a four-game winning streak, as CMS moves to 5-3 on the year with the split.

Maddy Menard opened the second half with a goal, and McKenna made it 11-5, before the Saints mounted their comeback that came up short.

Against La Salle, CMS had two-goal games from Christina Kulick, McKenna and Adsen, but ended up falling by just one goal. Natalie Clark closed out the first half with a goal, and McKenna started the second half with one to give CMS an 8-4 lead, but the Explorers tied it before the end of the third at 9-9.
