Women’s water polo raises over $2,500 for cancer research

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's water polo team hosted a Swim Across America event on Sunday, April 2, raising over $2,500 to fund cancer research. The two-hour event at Axelrood Pool featured an inner tube water polo game open to all members of the CMS aquatics teams.

Participants were required to raise at least $100 to be a part of the event. In addition to the women's water polo team, athletes from the men's water polo team and the CMS swim and dive program were present at the fundraiser for a fun yet competitive game of inner tube water polo.

Swim Across America is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that unites the swimming community by helping host benefit swims that raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Since 1987, SAA has raised over $65 million through 15 open water benefit swims across the country and 100 annual pool swim fundraisers.
