Missed opportunities for Athenas against Brown
CLAREMONT, Calif. – In the Tuesday night game against Brown, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's water polo team lost 7-1. The Bears played solid defense, holding the Athenas to just one goal.
CMS scored the first goal of the game, a clear shot by sophomore Brittany Arneson (CMC) at the 7:23 mark in the first period. From that point on, the Bears' defense kept CMS at bay and then Brown's freshman goalie, Marisol Dakan made a few deft saves, shutting out the Athenas for the remainder of the game.
Tomorrow, the Athenas (4-14, 1-0 SCIAC) host Cal Lutheran for the second SCIAC game of the season at 4 p.m. at Axelrood Pool. The Regals are 1-0 in conference after their 13-11 double overtime victory over La Verne on Saturday.
