Candace Filippelli named Player of the Year; Toohey, Hu & Alyssa Filippelli earn All-SCIAC Honors
PASADENA, Calif. – After a strong year and a second place finish in the SCIAC Championships, senior Candace Filippelli was named the SCIAC Player of the Year with senior Alex Toohey and junior Allison Hu earning All-SCIAC First Team honors and senior Alyssa Filippelli named to the All-SCIAC Second Team.
The Athenas finished in second place in the SCIAC Tournament beating Chapman and Whittier en route to the championship game against Pomona-Pitzer. Pomona-Pitzer came out strong in the second half and got the 7-4 win.
CMS had a 17-13 overall record, 9-2 in SCIAC with their only losses to Pomona-Pitzer. The Athenas improved on their record from last year by two wins. The team graduates five seniors: Meghan Jimenez, Kelly Davis, both Filippelli sisters, and Toohey.
