AVCA preseason poll ranks CMS No. 7
CLAREMONT, Calif. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its 2016 Preseason Poll with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at No. 7. CMS improves from its No. 9 status in the final AVCA rankings of the 2015 season. Last season, CMS (27-6) tied with Cal Lutheran in the SCIAC regular season and then won its first ever SCIAC post season tournament to earn the automatic qualification to the NCAA Tournament.
During the regular season in 2016, the Athenas will face four teams that are also ranked in the preseason top-25: No. 4 Emory, No. 6 Washington University, St. Louis, No. 10 Hendrix and the defending NCAA National Champions, Cal Lutheran.
