No. 20 CMS beats Oxy in three sets

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's volleyball team ran the table in their Saturday night matchup with Occidental, winning in straight sets (25-17, 25-17, 25-16). The 20th ranked Athenas had a team hitting percentage of .272 on the night.

Since the big win vs. Cal Lutheran, the Athenas' blocking has continued to play a role in their success. Sophomore Quinn Morrison and junior Audrey Breitwieser teamed up for four assisted blocks on crucial points for CMS.

Freshman Margaux Arntson hit .444 on the night with ten kills and only two errors. Sophomore Nicole Kerkhof additionally had 10 kills in the three set match. Senior Megan Coleman led the team with 23 digs.

The Athenas (21-5, 12-2 SCIAC) have a break until they travel to Redlands (2-18, 2-12 SCIAC) on Friday night, Oct. 31. CMS returns home the next day to round out the regular season with a 6 p.m. game vs. Chapman (7-16, 6-7 SCIAC)
