Straight set victories to go undefeated in Pacific Coast Classic

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's volleyball team beat UT Tyler (25-22, 25-21, 25-17) and Kean University (25-18, 25-14, 25-11) to round out the competition in the Pacific Coast Classic Tournament. The Athenas are off to a strong 4-0 start to their season after this weekend's non-conference matches.

CMS 3, UT Tyler 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-17)

In the first match of the day, CMS faced UT Tyler. On the previous day of the tournament, Tyler had a win against Occidental and loss to Pomona-Pitzer.

Audrey Breitwieser (CMC '16) led the team with 15 kills followed closely by Shelbi Stein (CMC '18) with 12.  The team recorded a .255 kill percentage, a stat that might have been higher if not for multiple outstanding digs by Tyler's libero Shabronda Prox.

Crystal Anderson (CMC '18) substituted in for the final point of the match and earned her team the win with a definitive kill.
