AVCA has CMS in top-20 in preseason poll
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2014 NCAA Division III Top-25 Preseason Poll on Aug. 13 and the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's volleyball team is ranked 19th heading into the upcoming season. CMS ended 2013 – the best season in school history –ranked 24th in the final poll of the year after a 25-7 record and an NCAA postseason appearance.
The Athenas begin play in 2014 on Aug. 29 with a pair of matches in the Pacific Coast Classic which CMS co-hosts. CMS' home matches in 2014 and throughout the duration of the Roberts Pavilion construction will be played at Harvey Mudd College's Linde Activities Center.
Cal Lutheran joins CMS as the other SCIAC team in the top-25 while Pomona-Pitzer received votes to be in the top-25.
