Josephine Jett Takes SCIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week

CLAREMONT, Calif. - First-year Josephine Jett captured the SCIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week for events through Sunday, Feb. 18, the conference office announced today.

Jett won the 100 meters at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers Meet, and was second in the 100-meter hurdles in her first collegiate outdoor track and field event (she did run in the CMS OIDFE Challenge, which had indoor distances, and at the Whitworth Indoor Invitational).

Jett's runner up finish in the 100 hurdles broke the 15-second barrier, as she finished in 14.99, putting her in seventh place in CMS history. She also finished in 12.56 in the 100 meters, which is not far off the CMS top 10 (12.44 is tenth place) in her first collegiate 100.

CMS will be back in action this weekend when it hosts the Rossi Relays on Saturday, starting at 10:30 a.m.
