Abraham Leads the Charge at Pomona-Pitzer All Comers

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Athenas had an impressive showing at the Pomona-Pitzer All Comers meet, with multiple top-ten finishes and two Athenas winning their event. Tyra Abraham (SC) led the effort for the Athenas, winning the 100 meter and was the top collegiate finisher in the 200 meter.

On the Track

Tyra Abraham (SC) dominated the field in the 100 and 200 meter events at the Pomona-Pitzer All Comers meet. She won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.80 and was the top collegiate finisher in the 200 meter in 25.10.

Danielle Honan (CMC) also had a top-ten performance, taking ninth in the 100 meter with a time of 12.57. She also took 12th in the 200m, finishing in 26.70.

Grace Pratt (CMC) came in eighth in the 400 meter dash, finishing just behind Southwestern's Faith Stevens at 1:05.37.

The Athenas finished 10th, 11th, and 12th in the 800m. Sami Murphy led the group with a mark of 2:30.35 in 10th place, followed by Laura Fleming (HMC) (2:31.55) and Katie Snell (CMC) (2:32.06), who finished in 11th and 12th, respectively.

Bryn McKillop (SC) won the mile, crossing the line in 4:49.97 and finished ahead of the next collegiate runner by over ten seconds. The Athenas had four of the top 10 finishers in the event with Abby Johnson (5:15.92) and Olivia Gleason (5:17.94) placing seventh and eighth in the event. Kyleigh Mann (CMC) rounded out CMS' effort in the mile, finishing 10th with a time of 5:18.76.

Ellen Berkley (CMC) was the Athenas' top finisher in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:35.65.

Sabrine Griffith (CMC) and Aubrey Egerter (HMC) placed ninth and 10th, respectively, in the 100 meter hurdles with times of 15.51 and 15.52.

The team of Egerter, Deyana Marsh (HMC), Pratt, and Griffith took third in the 4x100 meter relay, finishing in 50.27. Snell, Sam Baker, Laura Broderick (SC), and Lauren Stanislaw (SC) finished with a time of 4:21.92 for fifth in the 4x400 meter relay.

In the Field

Emily Basset (CMC) had a great showing, placing second in the shot put (11.93m) and discus (38.66m) before winning the hammer throw with a toss of 55.28m. Amy Azubuike (SC) took fifth in the shot put with a mark of 10.34m.

Ameila Otto Cutting (HMC) jumped to 1.55m to tie for third in the high jump.

Carolyn Weisman (CMC) was the top Division III finisher in the triple jump, leaping to 11.30m for a third-place finish.

The Athenas are next in action on Saturday, Feb. 24 when they host the Rossi Relays.
