The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named Joshua Sealand (HMC ’17) and Vaiva Palunas (SC ’17) to the 2017 Athlete of the Year on Tuesday, an award given to the best track and field athletes of each region.
CMS sends 10 athletes to NCAA Track & Field Championship

After a successful regular season, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track and field program saw 10 athletes qualify for the NCAA Championship in Geneva, Ohio. The top-20 male student-athletes of each event were accepted into the national championship as were the top-22 female student-athletes.

CMS sweeps track & field SCIAC Championships

Both the men’s and women’s track and field programs from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earned Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships in dramatic fashion on Saturday afternoon. The men’s competition came down to the final relay while the Athenas ran away with the 87 point victory. This marks the third consecutive SCIAC title for the Athenas and fifth consecutive for the Stags.
