Tan and Brown to compete in NCAA doubles semi

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – In the second day of the individual competition at the NCAA Tennis Championships, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team competed in quarterfinals in both doubles and singles play. The doubles team of Nicole Tan (CMC '20) and Lindsay Brown (CMC '18) won a straight set match to advance into the semifinals tomorrow morning.

Tan and Brown will face the No. 3 seed of Bridget Harding and Katrina Su from Emory. In the other semifinal, the top teams from Wesleyan and Redlands square off to determine which advances to the title match. On Tuesday in the team competition, the CMS duo defeated the pair from Emory 8-5, earning the Athenas' only team point in that match. The doubles finals will also be played tomorrow as the National Championships conclude.

The other CMS doubles team of Catherine Allen (SC '20) and Katie Kuosman (CMC '17) made an admirable postseason run but fell to the top-seeded team from Wesleyan, 6-1, 6-2. In the singles bracket, Allen faced Eudice Chong from Wesleyan for the second time in the day and ended her season with the 6-1, 6-1 loss in the singles quarterfinals.
