No. 5 Athenas cruise past Warhawks

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team had no trouble taking down the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Monday night as the Athenas (12-0) cruised through the Warhawks (7-4) for an 8-1 victory.

Junior Lindsay Brown (CMC) maintained her dominant run in No. 1 doubles alongside freshman Madison Shea (CMC) as they cruised past Megan Humphreys and Bridgid McGuire for an 8-5 victory. Freshman Catherine Allen (SC) and senior Katie Kuosman (CMC) took No. 2 doubles with an 8-5 win while junior Kyla Scott (HMC) and freshman Juliette Martin (HMC) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 victory.

Allen had no trouble taking down No. 5 ranked Humphreys in singles, winning 6-1 and 6-0. Freshman Lauren Yamagami (CMC) swept her No. 6 singles match with a pair of 6-0 wins and her classmate Ana Bryan-Ajania (SC) clinched the match with a 6-2 and 6-0 victory in No. 4 singles.

CMS will host No. 2 Williams on Saturday, Mar. 25 at 10 a.m. in the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
