Thomson named West Region Assistant Coach of the Year
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2016 Division III regional and national award winners on Wednesday, May 25, at the 2016 Division III NCAA Tennis Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis assistant coach Andrew Thomson was named the West Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
In his second season with the Athenas, Thomson helped lead the team to a 21-5 overall record in the 2016 season into the quarterfinals in the team competition. CMS still has two athletes competing in the doubles bracket at the NCAA Championships in Kalamazoo: senior Caroline Ward (CMC) and junior Katie Kuosman (CMC).
