SCIAC selects Ward as its Female Athlete of the Week

PASADENA, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced its Female Athlete of the Week on March 22 and senior Caroline Ward (CMC) of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team is the Female Athlete of the Week for the week of March 14-20.

Ward is ranked No. 23 in singles play and No. 3 in doubles and went undefeated in a big week for CMS women's tennis. The Athenas beat three top-25 teams in No. 25 Whitman (9-0), No. 6 Amherst (6-2) and No. 2 Bowdoin (7-2). Ward's singles matches against Amherst and Bowdoin went to three sets, ultimately with her outlasting her opponents including Bowdoin's No. 1 singles player and the 2015 runner-up in the NCAA singles championships, Joulia Likhanskaia. CMS is currently ranked No. 5 nationally and remains unbeaten in Division III play.
