It has been another outstanding year for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics. On the largest scale, CMS broke into the top-10 in the Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup. During the 2015-16 year, many of the CMS student athletes were honored for their athletic and academic achievements.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was represented by 201 student-athletes on the 2015-16 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Academic Team. The SCIAC recognizes student-athletes who have achieved at least a cumulative 3.4 grade point average and completed one full year at their institution.

CMS doubles team comes away with third ITA All-America selection

For the third time as a doubles team, Caroline Ward (CMC) and Katie Kuosman (CMC) of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s team have made the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-America team.

CMS won 11 SCIAC championships, had 13 teams participate in the NCAA Championships, finished tied for 10th in the Directors' Cup Standings and tallied four national championships (3 individual and 1 team). Take a look back at the 2015-16 year in this highlight video.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2016 Division III regional and national award winners on Wednesday, May 25, at the 2016 Division III NCAA Tennis Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis assistant coach Andrew Thomson was named the West Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis No. 1 duo of senior Caroline Ward (CMC) and junior Katie Kuosman (CMC) have advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Championships doubles competition thanks to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Meg Chiumento and Lauren Hawley of Denison University in the Round of 16 on May 26.
