Izzy Doud Takes Third in Three-Meter, Qualifies for NCAA Championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Izzy Doud earned a third-place finish in the three-meter dive at the NCAA Region 2 Diving Qualifiers to earn a bid to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships next month in Indianapolis.

Doud was one of the six divers selected from Region 2 to attend nationals, which went to the top three finishers on each of the two boards. If the same competitors finished in the top three on both boards, the fourth-place finishers would be next in line, but the women's competition featured three different top-three finishers today on the three-meter than it did yesterday on the one-meter.

Doud was one of the new faces in the top three, as she just edged out Ariana Khan of Emory for third place by the narrow margin of 1.25 points (383.20 points to 381.95). Tess Klugherz of Emory finished first with 414.00 points, while Alexis Radhakrishnan of Trinity was second with 387.75 points.

Emma Ng Pack finished seventh for CMS with 372.20 points after coming in fourth yesterday in the one-meter, just four points out of third, which was held by Khan. Katarina Partalas of Trinity and Ruby Epstein of Pomona-Pitzer finished 1-2 to join Khan as qualifiers in the one-meter.

Doud becomes the 12th member of the CMS women's swimming and diving program to earn an invitation to the NCAA Division III Championships, after 11 swimmers were selected earlier this week.
