Emma Ng Pack Earns Fourth in One-Meter Dive at NCAA Regional Qualifier

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Emma Ng Pack came in fourth place out of 19 competitors in the one-meter dive at the NCAA Division III Region 2 Diving Qualifier on Friday at Trinity University.

Ng Pack was close to earning an automatic invite to the NCAA Championships by finishing in the top three, but ended up just four points short of third. She is still in strong shape to qualify tomorrow, as six divers will earn qualifications from the region.

Katrina Partalas (Trinity), Ruby Epstein (Pomona-Pitzer) and Ariana Khan (Emory) earned the top three spots and invitations to nationals. Khan ended with 397.30 points to secure the third invitation, with Ng Pack right behind at 393.35. The top three finishers in the three-meter tomorrow will also be guaranteed bids, and if Partalas, Epstein, and/or Khan are in the top three again, the fourth-place finishers in each dive will be next in line to earn one of the six spots.

Makenna Parkinson also had a strong showing in the one-meter, finishing seventh of 19 with 367.45 points. Izzy Doud ended with 354.60 points, finishing 13th.

The women's three-meter dive will take place tomorrow, beginning at 12 noon local time (10 a.m. Pacific).
