Championship Field Set: CMS Earns a Total of 12 Invites to NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Wednesday evening the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released the invited field for the NCAA Division III men's and women's swimming National Championships. Among the swimmers invited are 10 Athenas and two Stags. Henry Limm (HMC) and Sam Willett (CMC) will carry the torch for the men's program as the lone representatives, while on the women's side 10 swimmers will be in the pool from Mar. 21-24 at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.

The field of 53 divers will be determined during regional diving meets on March 2-3.

The Athenas' line-up for Nationals will be underclassmen heavy. Juniors Emma Stacy (SC) and Riley Hoffman (CMC) are the lone upperclassmen to receive invites to the 2018 Championships. Sophomores Claire Bacon-Brenes (SC) Jocelyn Crawford (CMC), and Bryn Edwards (CMC) along with freshman Laura Dickinson (CMC), Natalia Orbach-Mandel (HMC), Mia Syme (CMC), Janet Tran (CMC), and Allie Umemoto (SC) also received invitations from the NCAA.

The Athenas are one of only eight women's teams in the country bringing 10 or more swimmers to the National Championships.
