NCAAs wrap up for Athenas with second-straight top-20 finish

SHENANDOAH, Texas – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming & diving team closed out the 2015 NCAA Division III Championships on March 21 with a 16th place finish, CMS' second top-20 finish at nationals in a row. Last year the Athenas finished in 13th.

Over the four-day competition which ran from March 18-21 at the Conroe ISD Natatorium, CMS totaled 60.5 points, less than 40 points out of a top-10 finish. Emory won the overall team national championship this season.

CMS' relay success continued on Saturday with another honorable mention All-America swim, this time in the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay. The Athenas swam in the consolation final and sophomore Kelly Ngo, sophomore Stephanie Doi, sophomore Kayla Flaten and senior LillyBelle Deer recorded a time of 3:27.56, fourth in the consolation final and 12th overall.
