Athenas earn 13th place finish at NCAA Championships behind 400 free relay on final day
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A fifth place finish for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swim team in the 400-yard freestyle relay gave the team 82 points for the week and a 13th place finish at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, March 19-22 at the IU Natatorium.
The team of senior Michele Kee, senior Helen Liu, junior LillyBelle Deer and freshman Kelly Ngo finished the relay with a school record time of 3:26.32 as a pair of Athena seniors closed out their careers.
On a light day of action for the Athenas, the team's final day began in the 1650-yard freestyle as junior Molly Loftus finished in 23rd with a time of 17:25.17. Then in the consolation final of the 200-yard breaststroke, Ngo finished in fourth (12th overall) with a time of 2:20.01.
