CLAREMONT, Calif. - Seniors Abby Parrish and Emme McMullen each had four goals as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team cruised to a 21-4 win over Redlands on Wednesday evening at Zinda Field.
With the win, CMS improves to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the SCIAC, while Redlands slips to 3-8 and 1-6 in league play with the loss.
The Athenas led 11-1 after the first quarter, leaving little doubt of the outcome after the game's opening minutes. Defensively, they allowed the Bulldogs to clear the ball successful just five times in 20 attempts, which led to a 45-8 advantage in shots.
Murphy led CMS with three assists, while Ulmer and Minturn had two apiece. Murphy, Lynch, McKenna Likins and Ainsley Basic each had two caused turnovers, while Lynch had five ground balls, and Basic, Ulmer and Sophia Shalz each had three.
CMS will be back in action when it travels to face No. 16 Chicago on Thursday, before facing Colorado College in a neutral site game at Chicago on Sunday.
