Athenas fall to Bulldogs in SCIAC opener

The women's lacrosse team lost to Redlands 17-9 in the season opener for both teams. CMS played extremely well over the final 20 minutes of the game outscoring Redlands 7-1. The Athenas were down only 3-1 after the first 20 minutes, but were undone by the middle 20 minutes. Redlands outscored CMS 13-1 over that span.
Christina Coffin led the Athenas with three goals while senior captain Anthea Weixel had two goals and an assist. Jacky Craycraft led the Bulldogs with six goals.
CMS returns to action next Wednesday, February 12. They will play at cross campus rival Pomona-Pitzer at 7:00. The next home game for CMS is Wednesday, February 26 against Occidental.
