Lauren Uhr hired as head coach of CMS Women's Lacrosse program

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Director of Athletics Michael Sutton has announced that Lauren Uhr has been hired as CMS' new head women's lacrosse coach.

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named their Division III All-Region teams yesterday and two Athena players were included. Zoe Pinczower and Oona Pritchard were named Second Team All-West Region.

Women’s lacrosse puts four on All-SCIAC teams

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team landed four players on the All-SCIAC team, the conference announced May 8. The Athenas placed one on the first team and three players on the second team.

Lead doesn’t hold for CMS in SCIAC Quarterfinal loss to Chapman

Back-to-back goals by Chapman to close out the first half changed the complexion of the match as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team fell 13-9 to Chapman in the quarterfinals of the SCIAC Women’s Lacrosse Championships on April 23 at Wilson Field.

CMS to face Chapman on the road in SCIAC Championships first round

Just four days after the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team and Chapman faced off in the regular season finale, the two squads are scheduled to play again in Orange on April 23, this time in the first round of the SCIAC Championships.

Second half surge by the Athenas not enough

In a very close game, the Athenas rallied from behind from a four goal deficit to the Whittier College Poets to end up falling only one goal short of forcing the game into overtime. The Athenas sophomore Izzy Laterzo scored what seemed to be the game tying goal with under a minute left only to have it called back when the Poets challenge of her stick was successful.

Athenas lose a hard fought match to Sagehens

The Athenas’ win streak came to an end on Saturday as they lost to the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens. The Athenas fought hard throughout the game but in the second half could not overcome the deficit that had been created in the first half.

Athenas stay red hot as they beat Southwestern (TX) to increase their win streak to eight games.

The Athenas set the tone for their fast paced offense early on as junior Hilary Slauson and sophmore Izzy Laterzo both scored inside the first two minutes of game play. The Southwestern University Pirates (TX) fought back with a 2-1 run of their own as freshman Kaitlyn Campbell and sophmore Allison Scmitt both scored for the Pirates. However, their run quickly came to an end as the Athenas went on a 13-1 run to finish out the first half.

Athenas extend win streak to seven with a double digit win over Depauw University

If there was any question about whether the Athenas were going to slow down after being on fire in their last game it was quickly answered. The Athenas jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first twelve minutes of play to help propel them to an 18-6 victory over the Depauw University Tigers (IN).
