Three Lacrosse Players Selected For Academic Honor Roll
September 12, 2011
Three members of the 2011 Athena lacrosse team were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll. Student-athletes need to have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA and have reached junior standing to qualify.
CMS Announces Hiring of New Head Lacrosse Coach

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps announces the hiring of Heather Semelmacher as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and Instructor of Physical Education. Semelmacher, who will be in Claremont full-time beginning September 15, has been the head coach at State University of New York at New Paltz since 2009.
Athenas Lacrosse Team Awards

After a great season, the CMS women’s lacrosse team has voted for its key players of the year. While many Athenas played pivotal roles this season, the players voted for their MVP and Unsung Hero. The coaching staff also selected one player to receive the “Coach’s Award” for their commitment and hard work this season.
Dick and Shove Earn All-America, All-Region Honors

Sarah Dick and Madi Shove capped off the 2011 season with Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Third Team All-American selections. Both players were also selected IWLCA First Team All-West Region. Madeleine Bannon was selected IWLCA Second Team All-West Region.
Women's Lacrosse Advances To NCAA Second Round

CMS beat the University of Redlands Bulldogs 19-11 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championships on Wednesday afternoon. With the victory, the 16th-ranked Athenas advance to the second round for a matchup with seventh-ranked Gettysburg College. The game will be Saturday, May 14 at 2:30 pm (Eastern) in Salisbury, MD.

Bannon Recognized By Synapse Sports

Freshmen starter Maddie Bannon was placed on the Honor Roll by Synapse Sports for the week of May 2. Synapse Sports honors a defensive, offensive, and rookie of the week throughout the season that stands out from all the rest.
Back To Back SCIAC Titles For CMS Lacrosse

CMS earned their second consecutive SCIAC title by defeating cross-street rival Pomona-Pitzer 16-7 in the SCIAC Tournament final at Redlands on Sunday. The Athenas went undefeated in SCIAC (10-0) for the second straight year and improved their overall record to 15-2.

CMS defeated the Occidental Tigers 16-6 on Saturday to advance to the SCIAC Championship on Sunday. The Athenas remain undefeated in SCIAC (9-0) and improve to 14-2 overall.

The Athenas Lacrosse team, which made program history with their first national ranking last week, has improved to 18th in the latest IWLCA rankings. CMS is also the top ranked team in the West Region in the NCAA regional rankings.

CMS lacrosse recognized their senior leaders on Wednesday evening prior to their regular season finale against Pomona-Pitzer and a concerted team effort was put forth to send them out in style. CMS dominated the game from the opening draw and won 20-3.

Athenas Make SCIAC History With IWLCA Ranking

The IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaching Association) has ranked CMS in its top 20 for the first time in SCIAC history. This is the first time a California team appeared in the poll this season. The Athenas come in at No. 20 in week eight of voting in their first appearance.
CMS Beats Whittier For Seventh Straight Win

The CMS Athenas attacked for the entire 60 minutes against Whittier on Parents Field on Saturday and came away with a 19-9 win. CMS improved to 12-2 overall and 7-0 in SCIAC play.
CMS Remains Undefeated In SCIAC

The Athenas improved their SCIAC record to 6-0 on Saturday with an 18-7 home win over the Bulldogs of Redlands. CMS improved to 11-2 overall with the victory.
