Menlo Defeats Stags 65-52

The Menlo College men's basketball team defeated the Stags Saturday night in Ducey Gym 65-52. The Stags fall to 1-1 on the season after a tough loss to Menlo College Saturday night where the Stags found a hot-shooting Menlo basketball team that shot 7-13 from behind the arc, with junior guard Cody Christenson shooting 5-5 from behind the arc for 19 points on the night. Menlo shot 48% from the field, and 81% from behind the arc.

The Stags were led by freshman Chris Blees, junior guard Austin Soldner, and senior guard Dan Winterbottom with 9 points respectively. Senior guard Umar Khan came off the bench to give the Stags 8 points. The Stags shot 42% from the field, and had a rough night from behind the arc.

Look for the Stags to rebound this weekend as the Wells Classic begins on Friday night at the Rains Center at Pomona College. The Stags will take on Macalester College at 5:00 pm and St. Olaf Saturday night at 7:30 in Ducey Gym.
