Mira Yoo Earns Top 10 Finish at DIII National Preview for CMS Women's Golf

HOUSTON, TEXAS - Sophomore Mira Yoo captured a top-10 finish with a two-day 155 (77-78) to earn a share of ninth place for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team at the Division III National Preview, held at the Bay Oaks Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Yoo came in ninth out of a field of 101 golfers representing 18 schools. Her efforts helped the Athenas to a seventh-place finish at the event. She birdied her final hole of the day to move up out a tie for 11th and into ninth, her second birdie on the back nine.
As a team the Athenas had a two-day 646, placing them seven shots behind Berry College in sixth place, and seven ahead of Gustavus Adolphus in eighth place. Grinnell ended up winning the tournament with a 613, edging out George Fox (616) and DePauw (618).
Sophomore Emily Attiyeh had the second-best round for the Athenas on the day, earning an 81 to finish in a tie for 33rd place with a two-day 162. Senior Kelly Ransom was third with a 164, while freshman Amy Xue was one shot behind.
The Athenas will next be in action this weekend when they host the two-day, five-team CMS Invitational at Los Serranos on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 11:15 a.m.
