It has been another outstanding year for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics. On the largest scale, CMS broke into the top-10 in the Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup. During the 2015-16 year, many of the CMS student athletes were honored for their athletic and academic achievements.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was represented by 201 student-athletes on the 2015-16 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Academic Team. The SCIAC recognizes student-athletes who have achieved at least a cumulative 3.4 grade point average and completed one full year at their institution.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golfers, Kelly Ransom (CMC) and Maya Bhat (CMC), both have garnered Women’s Collegiate Golf All-American Scholar honors, as announced by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on July 5.

CMS won 11 SCIAC championships, had 13 teams participate in the NCAA Championships, finished tied for 10th in the Directors' Cup Standings and tallied four national championships (3 individual and 1 team). Take a look back at the 2015-16 year in this highlight video.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team is represented by four athletes on the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) teams, highlighted by freshman Kelly Ransom (CMC) earning Newcomer of the Year. Ransom is joined by freshman Mary Bryan Owen (CMC) and sophomores Margaret Loncki (CMC) and Maya Bhat (CMC), all on the Second Team.

A pair of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golfers finished in the top-5 to help lead CMS to a second place finish at the 2016 SCIAC Championships and a second place finish in the overall conference standings.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team went from fourth to second place after an excellent round of 314 on day two of the SCIAC Championships. Three Athenas improved from their first round scores and now sit in the top-10 of the tournament.

With one day in the books at the SCIAC Championships, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team is in fourth place and playing as an individual, junior Athena Taylor Kain-Godoy (CMC) is in third place after the first round, April 24 at Oak Valley Golf Course.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team took a six stroke lead after the first round and held on in the second round to win by five strokes in the SCIAC #2 tournament. At assistant coach, Julie Lynd’s home course, South Hills Country Club, the Athenas finished with two players in the top-5 and three in the top-10 in the conference tournament.

In the first conference rounds of the season, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team finished in third place (646) at the two-round SCIAC No. 1 Tournament, Feb. 20-21 at Tukwet Canyon Golf Course.
