Five Athenas named to All-SCIAC golf teams

PASADENA, Calif. – Freshman Margaret Loncki (CMC) earned First Team honors as teammates freshman Cara Brinster (CMC), sophomore Taylor Kain-Godoy (CMC), senior Shaina Raskin (SCR) and senior Marissa Suehiro (CMC) were honored with Second Team selections, as announced by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) on May 11.

Loncki was the individual winner at the SCIAC Championships with a one-over 73 on the final day to take the tournament by one stroke. She averaged just over 78 shots per round during her first SCIAC season.

Brinster and Kain-Godoy earn their first all-conference selections after consistent performances all year. Brinster's low round in the spring was a 76 during SCIAC #2. Kain-Godoy finished the SCIAC season averaging 77.6 strokes during the final five rounds.

Suehiro earns her third all-conference award after being named to the first team in both 2012 and 2013. This season, she finished 15th in the SCIAC #2 tournament with a 77 on the first day for her low round on the year.

Raskin completes her career with SCIAC awards each of her four years. She finished 11th in the SCIAC Championships. Under Raskin's and Suehiro's leadership, the team finished the year ranked No. 10 by Golfstat after having climbed steadily in the rankings during their careers.
