70 Stags and Athenas on SCIAC All-Academic Teams

On July 1, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2014-15 Spring All-Academic Teams. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps students made up 70 of the 436 athletes honored.
End of year awards for CMS, CMC, HMC and Scripps

Over the final few weeks of the 2014-15 school year, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletic Department, along with Claremont McKenna College (CMC), Harvey Mudd College (HMC) and Scripps College (SCR) all announced their end-of-year athletic awards. Below is a list of this year’s recipients, what the awards represent and a little bit about the recipient’s career and accolades with CMS.
Five Athenas named to All-SCIAC golf teams

Freshman Margaret Loncki (CMC) earned First Team honors as teammates freshman Cara Brinster (CMC), sophomore Taylor Kain-Godoy (CMC), senior Shaina Raskin (SCR) and senior Marissa Suehiro (CMC) were honored with Second Team selections, as announced by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) on May 11.

Freshman Margaret Loncki (CMC) won the three-round 2015 SCIAC Championships golf tournament by one stroke over Pomona-Pitzer's Tiffany Gu with a score of 227 on April 26-28 at Oak Valley Golf Course.

In the SCIAC #2 Tournament, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team finished in second place at the two-day, two-round event held April 4-5 at Upland Hills Country Club.
Annual showdown against Pomona-Pitzer goes to CMS

In the annual Claremont Colleges women’s golf showdown between Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer, CMS came away with a resounding 37-stroke victory over its rival on March 29 in the one-round Walker Cup at the Los Serranos North Golf Course to retain the trophy.

A year after winning the Collegiate Invitational, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team earned another top-5 finish, this time a tie for second place in the three-day event held March 13-15 at the par-72 Indian Mound Golf Course.

After four months away from competition between the fall and spring seasons, the three-time defending conference champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team teed off the 2015 season on Feb. 8 in the Claremont Quad at Empire Lakes Golf Course.
Embry Riddle Invite concludes fall season as CMS earns second place finish

The brief fall season for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team concluded on Sept. 29 as the team earned a second place finish at the six-team Embry Riddle Invitational held Sept. 28-29 at the par-72 Talking Rock Golf Course. With the second place finish, CMS improved two places at the tournament over its 2013 finish.
Stiff competition at Torrey Pines for women’s golf

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s golf team traveled to La Jolla to play in the Pt. Loma Fall Preview Golf Classic played at Torrey Pines Golf Course. Up against tough competition, the Athenas shot well but finished last in the field of Division I, II, and III teams.
