Quest for Athena golf team’s third-straight SCIAC title begins Sunday
CLAREMONT, Calif. – After a three week wait, the No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team sets out on Sunday, April 27 in search of its third conference championship in a row at the SCIAC Women's Golf Championships. The three-day SCIAC Championships are hosted by Redlands and run from April 27-29 at Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont, Calif., the same location as last year's SCIAC Championships.
Heading into the SCIAC Championships after two conference tournaments during the regular season, the Athenas hold a commanding 46 shot lead over second place Redlands. The conference champion is decided by total strokes from the two SCIAC Tournaments and the SCIAC Championships.
CMS has won three of its last four tournaments in 2014 including both SCIAC tournaments.
