Reddy, Athenas come from behind to win SCIAC No. 1

FONTANA, Calif. – With two tournaments under their belt so far this spring, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team has two wins. Over the weekend, the Athenas were in third place after the first day of the SCIAC No. 1 Tournament at the par 72 Sierra Lakes Golf Course, only to come back and win the tournament behind a school and SCIAC-record performance in the second round.

CMS shot a 617 for the tournament including a conference and school record 300 in the second round to get the win by 10 strokes over Redlands while Cal Lutheran (651) finished in third.

Senior Maya Reddy won the tournament after trailing after Saturday's first round. Reddy shot a two-round score of 150 including a 1-over 73 in the second round, the low round of the day. Junior Tiffany Su (153) finished in third overall, three shots off the lead and freshman Lindsay Slocum (154), competing as an individual, finished in fourth place. Su and Slocum both shot second round scores of 73.
