Jai Dungca (CMC '17) Joins Fellow Medical School Students in Bringing PPE to Healthcare Workers

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Former CMS women's basketball player Jai Dungca (CMC '17) is part of an effort from current medical school students in Pennsylvania providing personal protective equipment to healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dungca and her classmates at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, Pennsylvania, were part of an effort that was profiled recently in Forbes Magazine. Their efforts, dubbed PPE 2 NEPA has been collecting boxes of 100-count gloves, shields, gowns and N95 masks to deliver to hospitals in Northeastern Pennsylvania (Dungca is photographed in the Forbes story below holding boxes of N95 masks). 

Dungca played in 110 games in her CMS career with the women's basketball program, including 56 starts She started 53 of the 54 games she played in over her last two seasons. She totaled 570 points and 190 assists at her point guard spot, and helped the Athenas to three straight NCAA appearances over her final three seasons, including reaching the second round as a junior and senior. She had 11 points on 4-6 shooting in an NCAA win over Texas-Dallas a senior.
